Paul McCauley

Paul was brought up in a Christian home and saved early in life. He spent seven years in civil engineering before leaving it to be engaged full time in the spread of the gospel. He lives in Belfast with his wife, Karen, and four sons, Luke, Zach, Jacob and Levi.

Paul Coxall

Paul is an elder in Fernielea Gospel Hall, Aberdeen, UK. He came to saving faith in his mid-20s and having given up paid employment in late 2018 currently serves the Lord in gospel work and Bible teaching.

Stephen Grant

Stephen is an elder in the local church which meets in Hope Hall, Bridge of Weir. He is married to Sharon and they have 3 grown-up children. Stephen has spent the last 20 years in full-time service for the Lord.

Alasdair MacPherson

Having lived in Shetland for most of his life, Alasdair now lives in Oxfordshire with his wife Rhoda and their four boys, Will, Ethan, Jude and Cole. He serves in the assembly of Christians meeting in Windmill Gospel Hall, North Leigh. He continues to be employed in the seafood industry selling Shetland seafood to businesses throughout Europe.

Justin Pratt

Justin is employed as a dentist in the community of Kirkland Lake in northern Ontario, Canada. He is married to Naomi, with whom he shares six children. He came to know the Saviour as a young boy. He loves to spend time reading good books and chatting with friends.

David Williamson

David serves the Lord in evangelism and Bible teaching. He was saved at the age of twenty-one and, twelve years later, left his employment at Aviva Insurance to preach and teach God’s Word. His home Assembly is Ebenezer, Belfast, and his passion is to reach out with the gospel and encourage other Christians to do the same. David lives in Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland, with his wife Jennie and two children, Anna and Caleb.

Joel Hawthorne

Joel was born and raised in a Christian family in Belfast, while his wife, Rebecca, grew up in Cape Town. After completing his studies at Queen's University, Joel began a career as a financial risk consultant, which led him to relocate to Edinburgh in 2019. He and Rebecca are active members of the local church meeting at Gorgie Gospel Hall. Since May 2024, Joel has dedicated himself to full-time Bible preaching and teaching.

Graham Stannard

Graham grew up in East Anglia and spent most of his working life in that region before moving to Perth, Scotland in 2016. Graham and his wife Wilma have two children and five grandchildren and are associated with the Christians meeting in Perth Gospel Hall.

Naomi Pratt

Naomi is an elementary teacher turned stay-at-home mom who lives in northern Ontario Canada with her husband Justin and their 6 children. She is passionate about home life and natural beauty and seeks to serve God and hear Him in the ordinary events of everyday life.

Philip Mullan

Philip lives in Dungannon with his wife Esther and their four children. He enjoys fellowship with the Christians who meet at Dungannon Gospel Hall and works as a GP.

Douglas Robertson

Douglas is married to Mandy and they have 3 children. Douglas is in fellowship with the Christians who meet in the Gospel Hall, Crosshouse, Scotland.

Violet McLatchie

Violet is an Ayrshire lassie, now living in Helensburgh (west coast of Scotland) with husband, Jim. Their three children have now “flown the nest” and recently, Violet retired from school teaching. Violet and Jim are actively involved in Bethesda Christian Fellowship in Helensburgh.

Bert Cargill

Bert retired after thirty years’ chemistry teaching and research and lives with his wife Isobel on the east coast of Scotland. He has had a lifelong commitment to Christian service, based in the assembly in St Monans. He has written several books and magazine articles, some of which deal with the connection between Science and Creation.

Laura Allen

Sinner saved by grace, wife of a patient man, mother of rascals, dog-lover, Ayrshire native turned reluctant Aberdonian, occasional teacher and avid reader.

Josh Kaye

Born in Yorkshire, Josh now serves the Lord alongside his wife Keri in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He has a particular interest in preaching, teaching and youth work.

Stephen Mullan

Originally from Belfast, Stephen lives in North Antrim with his wife Sharon and two children. He enjoys fellowship with the Christians at Ballynaloob Gospel Hall.

Rhoda MacPherson

Rhoda is the grateful wife of Alasdair, a learning parent of four affectionate boys and a wondering student of the ways of her Saviour. Rhoda is part of the assembly in North Leigh, Oxfordshire. She hopes anything she writes might encourage you to know and love your great God even more.

Jonathan Steeds

Jonathan was born in Bristol and has lived there for most of his life. He spent twenty years as a primary school teacher before moving into full-time Christian work. Jonathan is in fellowship with the believers at Speedwell Chapel, Bristol.

Karen McCauley

Karen lives in Belfast with her husband Paul, and is a stay-at-home mum to four growing boys. She meets with the Christians at Cregagh Street Gospel Hall, Belfast. Her desire is to encourage other women in learning to rely on God in everyday life.

Craig MacKie

Craig is married to Christina and together they have three young children. He and Christina are in happy fellowship with the Christians that meet in Bridgend Gospel Hall, New Cumnock. After ten years working in the agricultural supplies industry, he felt the call of God to leave secular employment and spend his time preaching the good news of Jesus Christ wherever the opportunity presents itself.

Andrew Williamson

Andrew is involved in Bible teaching and evangelism in the Highlands of Scotland. Originally a pharmacist, he left secular employment in 2017 and is now fully focused on his Christian service. He is originally from Belfast and is married to a Shetland wife (Lindsey); they reside just outside Inverness. They have three young children: Isaac, Hannah and Hope. Andrew is in fellowship in the Christian Assembly that meets in Culloden, Inverness, at the Gospel Hall.

Jeremy Holifield

Jeremy is a husband, father of four adult children – Chloe, Leah, Luke and Phoebe – and grandfather of four. He serves as an elder in the local church in Deri, Wales, where he and his family continue to live, but engages in a Bible teaching ministry throughout England and Wales. He is also a project manager in the construction industry.

Joel Lacey

Originally from Birmingham, Joel grew up in Rugby before studying Product Design at Coventry University. He works as a sales and marketing professional in the critical mineral markets for a company in Oxford. After marrying Jacqueline, he settled in Oxfordshire, where they are members of the assembly of Christians meeting in Hebron Gospel Hall, Bicester. Both are deeply involved in the church, where Joel contributes through teaching and preaching. Joel and Jacqueline recently welcomed their first child, a son named Gideon.

Andy Mullan

Andy grew up and was saved in Belfast, but now lives in Birmingham with his wife, Janelle, and their six children. After teaching for twelve years, Andy has been working as an evangelist since 2013. He engages in open air preaching, literature distribution and personal engagement with those in Muslim communities. He is in fellowship, and labours, in the Hope Chapel assembly.

Sharon Grant

Sharon lives in Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire with her husband Stephen and their two sons. Their daughter is married and lives in Ayrshire. Sharon works in the local Primary school and is a member of the church in Bridge of Weir that meets in Hope Hall.

Daniel Hinshelwood

Daniel lives in the village of Plains, Scotland, with his wife, Lucy, and enjoys fellowship with the Christians who meet at Elim Gospel Hall. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys reading and studying, as well as playing guitar and piano.

Richard Burditt

Richard was raised in a Christian home and, following his conversion, was baptized as a young man and became a member of the local church meeting at Osborne Road Gospel Hall, Northampton. He continues to serve there faithfully through teaching and preaching. After completing his education, Richard began his career as a graphic designer with a local company. He is now happily married to Lizzie, and together they are proud (and occasionally exhausted!) parents of their daughter, Sophie, born in 2024.

Graeme Paterson

Graeme is married with five children. He grew up and lived in Lanarkshire but recently moved to Orkney. Since 2009, he has been serving the Lord as an evangelist in Great Britain. He spends his time visiting schools, holding children’s Bible clubs, and preaching the gospel in different locations.

Matthew Cain

Matthew serves as an elder in the church at North Street Gospel Hall in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada), where he and Esther live and raise a family of four children. Initially employed in a public accounting firm, Matthew has been engaged full time in Christian ministry since 2005. His focus is local evangelism and Bible teaching, but he also gives time to podcasting, and preaching in churches around Canada and the USA.

Emily B

Emily trusted Christ as her Saviour at a young age and has known Him to be faithful throughout her life. She is a member of a local church and involved in a variety of ministries there, in particular youth and children's work, including Sunday School and a mid-week Bible Club. She also helps run youth camps and other activities for teenagers, and especially enjoys serving this age group.

Tim MacLean

Tim MacLean lives in Fenwick, Ayrshire with his wife Laura and is a member of the church at Elim Hall, Kilmarnock. He works as an engineer in the aviation industry and, in addition to local church involvement, enjoys sports in his spare time.

Sheila Ganoe

Sheila is happily married to her husband David. They have eight children and live in wild, wonderful West Virginia (USA). Saved as a child, she is thankful to her parents for a godly example, to her husband for his love, and to her children for teaching her SO much about God! Day by day she is learning to follow God and to recognize His voice.

Eric Baijal

Eric lives in Caithness in the North of Scotland and is married with four children. He works as a solicitor but is a member of the assembly of Christians that meets in Bethany Gospel Hall, Wick, where he is involved in Bible preaching and teaching.

Iain Maclean

Iain lives in Glasgow with his wife and young family. He works in the construction industry and is a member of the church that meets in the Gospel Hall, Maryhill.

Andrew Dutton

Andrew grew up in Liverpool, but now lives in Norwich with his wife Rachel and his little boy. They are part of the assembly that meets at Hebron Chapel, Costessey, Norwich. His employment as a Surveyor and Project Manager takes him across the country. Andrew is involved in Bible teaching and gospel preaching and likes to write articles now and again! With his family, Andrew enjoys summer camps and has helped at the Norfolk Young People's Bible Camp for the last few years.

Lillian Hay

Lillian is married to Jack and they have two married daughters. Lillian lives in beautiful Perthshire and is in fellowship in the assembly that meets in the Gospel Hall, Perth, UK.

Senga Vang

Senga came to faith in Christ as a child, growing up in Shetland. Since student days she has been a member of the church at Fernielea Gospel Hall in Aberdeen, where she leads the Parent and Toddler group. She is married and has four children.

Anna Paterson

Anna is married to Graeme; they have five children and Anna is a part-time primary teacher. Anna has recently moved to Orkney and meets with the Christians in the Meadows Gospel Hall. She is involved in various outreaches with children and adults.

Eunice Wilkie

Eunice lives in the Scottish Highlands. She is married, is an active member of a local church, and enjoys painting, reading, and walking in the countryside with her dogs.

Abi Rankin

Abi lives in Aberdeenshire and works with young people from Forces families. She also enjoys being with friends, reading, swimming and getting involved at the church she is a part of, which meets in Inverurie Gospel Hall.

Elaine Martin

Elaine became a Christian when she was seven and living in Perthshire. She now lives in Whitburn, Central Scotland with her husband Blair. Elaine has three children and three grandchildren, whom she loves spending time with. Elaine came into fellowship with the church which meets in the Gospel Hall in Whitburn when she married Blair.

David Grant

David lives in Erskine, Scotland and is a primary school teacher in one of the local schools. He loves playing and watching sports (mainly football) and spending time with friends. David is part of a local church in Renfrew where he gets to serve God and meet with other Christians.

Steve Buckeridge

Steve and his wife Judi live between Windsor and Heathrow Airport in the UK and have four grown-up children. For many years Steve has been involved in Bible teaching and gospel preaching. Leaving full-time employment in 2012 has provided opportunities for them both to serve God in additional ways, particularly in local schools and as airport chaplains. They are in fellowship with the Christians meeting at Hurst Gospel Hall.

Jeff Rogers

Jeff is married to Avril and they have 4 children, Charlie, Olivia, Zack and Sophia. He lives on the Ards Peninsula, Northern Ireland and is associated with the Christians that meet at Cardy Gospel Hall. Jeff works as an accountant.

Huw Rees

Huw was born in Wales into a Christian family. After coming to faith in Christ, he was baptized and became a member of the local church at Ebenezer Gospel Hall in Carmarthen. He pursued higher education at the University of South Wales and now works as a Civil Engineer. Passionate about gospel preaching and Bible teaching, Huw has travelled internationally to share in Bible teaching and has been actively involved in gospel outreach efforts across Wales and England.

Laura MacLean

Laura lives in Fenwick, Ayrshire with her husband Tim and her three children. She is a member of the church that meets in Elim Hall, Kilmarnock and, as a primary teacher, particularly enjoys working with children and young people.

Gareth Edwards

Gareth is an evangelist who has served God full-time in Perthshire since 2016. He is involved in spreading the Gospel through various means, including: soup kitchens, sports outreaches, literature distribution, social media, and individual and group Bible studies. He is a member of Perth Gospel Hall.

Phil Workman

Phil Workman lives in Ontario with his wife Gen and their two children. He works in the electrical power industry as a Millwright and fellowships with the Christians at the Sarnia Gospel Hall.

Alistair Piper

Alistair was raised in Carterton, Oxfordshire, in a Christian home. After completing his education, he pursued a career as a Digital Designer. Following a few years living in South Wales, he has returned to Oxfordshire and now resides in Curbridge with his wife, Sarah. Both are active members of a local church in North Leigh, where Alistair enjoys sharing the Word of God. He and Sarah also share a passion for photography and have captured memories at several weddings for family and friends.

Ian Proud

Ian is happily married to Eleanor and they are blessed with two children, Iona and Joshua. He serves the Lord as an elder at Inverurie Gospel Hall and as a pharmacist in Peterhead. Ian came from a non-Christian background but, by God’s grace, both he and his brother came to faith at a Christian Youth Camp in 1977 (somewhat bizarrely in the dental suite of Forres Academy).

Tim lives near Windsor, Berkshire and grew up in a Christian family. He has a strong passion for photography, videography and creative media and is keen to use his skills to tell others about God's love.

Jonny Allen

Jonny and his wife Laura live and work in Aberdeen. They serve the Lord with Christians who meet in the Riverside Christian Assembly, Aberdeen, with Jonny focusing on teaching the Bible and evangelism. They have five young children, an Irish Setter, and spend as much family time as possible in the outdoors enjoying God’s creation.

Blair Martin

Blair is married to Elaine and they have three grown-up children. Blair lives in Whitburn, West Lothian and is a member of the church that meets in the Gospel Hall there. Since 2003 Blair has been in full-time service for the Lord.

Holly Martin

Originally from Northern Ireland, Holly now lives in Whitburn with her husband Jonny. She is a secondary school teacher and a member of the local church that meets in West End Gospel Hall.

Sarah Nelson

Sarah grew up in Helions Bumpstead in East Anglia, and came to know the Lord at the age of 6. She is married to Josh and they have three children – Leah, Isaac and Jake. They now live on the east coast of the USA in Wilmington, North Carolina, and meet with the believers at Wilmington Bible Chapel where they are active in children's work and Bible study groups.

Danielle Stewart

Danielle was privileged to be raised in a loving, Christian home and was saved at the young age of five. She now lives with her husband, David, and their rascal rescue dog, Max, in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Canada. Danielle works full-time as an administrative assistant at a local non-profit family resource centre. She loves to read and to spend time outdoors. She also loves visiting vintage and antique shops to find treasures. Danielle and David enjoy fellowship with the Christians at River Road Gospel Hall (www.riverroadgospelhall.com), Portage la Prairie.

Lloyd Stock

Lloyd lives and serves the Lord with his wife Sarah in Bury St Edmunds, England. Alongside church activities with the believers in the local Gospel Hall, and parenting three children, Lloyd is employed in the Ed. Tech. industry.

Tim Bennett

Tim became a Christian by the grace of God as a boy, struck by the powerful truth of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the air at any moment and the way of salvation through His death on the cross and glorious resurrection. He lives in Wales with his wife Naomi and their three children, and is in fellowship with the Christians who gather at Bethesda, Cardiff. Tim’s prayer is that anything he writes might be honouring to the Lord and a help to others.

Michael Wilkie

Michael was born and raised in a Christian home in Aberdeen. Following his medical degree and training he now works in the hospital in Inverness as a consultant anaesthetist. Michael is married to Eunice, and they both serve the Lord with the Assembly of Christians which meets in Culloden Gospel Hall, near Inverness, where Michael is an elder.

Walter Hannay

Walter practised as a GP in Greenock and a Hospital Practitioner at the Rankin Memorial Maternity Hospital and Inverclyde Royal Infirmary. He married Gillian in 1971 and they have 4 grown-up children and 9 grandchildren. He has been a member of and attended Bethany Gospel Hall continuously since his marriage and coming to live in Inverclyde.

Sarah Currie

Sarah lives in Fife, Scotland with her husband Leonard and her youngest daughter, who has complex medical needs. Her eldest daughter is married, with a little boy, and lives in Edinburgh. Sarah is in fellowship in the Gospel Hall in Kinross. Sarah hopes sharing her various life experiences can be a blessing and encouragement to others.

Judith McMullan

Judith was born and raised in Bridge of Weir, Scotland but has lived in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland since marrying her husband Tim; they have four children. She is a member of Ballymoney Gospel Hall and is involved in all aspects of church life, focusing particularly on children’s work.

Iona McLeod

Iona is a Neuro Physiotherapist based in Aberdeen. She is married to Craig, serves in her local church, and is mainly involved in youth and camp work – something she holds very dear – having been loved and taught so well by her leaders.

Fiona Gaw

Fiona was brought up in Prestwick, Ayrshire but moved the short distance to Dreghorn when she married her husband, Tom. They have 3 grown-up children and Fiona works in a local school as a part-time primary school teacher. She is in fellowship with the Christians who meet in Ebenezer Hall, Dreghorn.

Peter Stevenson

Peter is married to Alison, and together they have three children. He is an elder in the assembly of believers meeting in the Gospel Hall in Ahoghill and enjoys being involved in children’s work. He also runs his own business.

Steve Rankin

Steve is an elder in Inverurie Gospel Hall and works as a dentist in Aberdeen. He is married to Karen and they have five adult children and four grandsons. Called home to be with the Lord on 29th January 2025.

Chloe Buckeridge

Chloe grew up in a Christian family, was saved, baptized and came into the fellowship of a local church just before she reached her teens. Alongside her paramedic training in London, she has a desire to encourage believers to be content in God’s great plans and purposes for their lives, as well as teaching children about God’s love.

Alastair is married to Louise and they have 3 married children. Alastair is in fellowship with the Christians who meet at the Gospel Hall in Crosshouse, Scotland. He travels throughout the UK teaching the Word of God.

Jonathan Seed

Jonathan and Hannah are commended by the assembly meeting at Carleton Gospel Hall in Vancouver, Canada. They serve the Lord in Guadalajara, Mexico but are currently residing in Jackson, Michigan to receive medical attention for their youngest son Augustine.

Carl Radcliffe

Carl is married to Emma and they have a baby girl, Lucy. Carl and Emma are in fellowship in Cardy Gospel Hall, Northern Ireland.

James Hutchinson

James lives and works in Aberdeen, Scotland, along with his wife Faith. He is a member of Inverurie Gospel Hall where he is actively involved in Bible teaching and youth ministry. He enjoys running or cycling through the beautiful Scottish countryside in his spare time.

Jim McLatchie

Jim is married to another UtG contributor: Violet. They have three married children and recently became grandparents. Jim retired from a career in financial services at the beginning of 2022. He is very active as an elder in Bethesda Christian Fellowship in Helensburgh (Scotland) and occasionally is invited to preach at other churches, mainly in the west of Scotland.

Jessica Patten

Jessica recently married and relocated to Ontario from Scotland. Having studied primary teaching in Aberdeen, she is now a full-time elementary teacher. She is a member of a local assembly of Christians and is actively involved in Sunday School. Jessica enjoys travelling and being creative.

Lois McLatchie (Guest Writer)

Born in Scotland, Lois began to follow Christ from an early age. That walk has so far led her to complete studies in International Relations and Human Rights Law. In 2018, Lois moved to Geneva, Switzerland, where she works as a legal analyst focusing on advocacy for religious liberty, the right to life and other issues of human dignity and freedom at the UN Human Rights Council. She writes here in her own capacity.

Pamella Watt

Pamella is South African, living in the Highlands of Scotland. She is married to Craig and in fellowship at Culloden Gospel Hall, where they are both active members. She is a mum to identical twin girls and enjoys reading, writing, cooking and long walks.

Naomi Connell

Naomi was born in the USA but lives in Aberdeen (Scotland). After leaving school she qualified as a nurse but now spends most of her time looking after her husband Jordan and their two young children, Alice and Chloe. She is a very active member of Fernielea Gospel Hall, where her responsibilities include serving at the Toddler group.

Aaron Shutt

Aaron resides in Jackson, Michigan, USA with his wife Angelina and five young children, where he owns and operates a real estate investment business. He loves to read, especially history and theology. Aaron is also a member of Jackson Gospel Hall, where he has the opportunity to be regularly involved in preaching and teaching.

Jonathan Rogers

Jonathan is married to Kyra and they have four children: Josiah, Poppy, Micah and Kezia. He works locally in toy retailing and is in fellowship with the Christians meeting at Growell Gospel Hall.

Ivan McClean

Ivan is married to Jennifer and they have two grown-up children. He and his wife are members of the Assembly of Christians in Ahoghill, where Ivan is an elder. He is involved in children's work and speaks in local primary school assemblies.

John Wray

John is married to Audrey and they have three grown-up daughters and eight grandchildren. Brought up in Northern Ireland, he moved to England in 1981 and is now living near Witney in Oxfordshire. John retired from a career in engineering in 2018 and both he and Audrey enjoy fellowship with the Christians at Windmill Gospel Hall, North Leigh, Oxfordshire.
