Shout From The Rooftops

Over the past few weeks, I have felt challenged to share my faith with those around me.  It has struck me like never before what a great hope I have, particularly in these uncertain times.

Shout From The Rooftops

While everything around us changes, and the way we live our lives has been altered dramatically, there is something that remains steady and unchanging. The Bible declares in Hebrews 13:8 that, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

As someone who trusts Him as my own Saviour, I can hold on to that promise. Another promise that God makes in Hebrews 13:5 tells me, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Being a Christian is not about following a set of rules or attending church every week. It is having a personal relationship with the God of heaven through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. He loved me so much that, despite my sin, He took my punishment when He died on the cross. Not only has He spared me eternal judgement, but he helps and guides me each day. He strengthens me, comforts me and gives me hope.

With such an amazing peace for the present and hope for the future, how can I not share it with everyone I know? Such good news should be shouted from the rooftops and shared in every conversation.

So, to all my friends and acquaintances, I apologise for not being so forthright in the past. Perhaps I cared more about fitting in or about my own popularity. Yet I do care deeply for every single soul.

Therefore, during this strange and worrying period, take time to consider the creator of this world: His interest in and love for each person; His sacrifice for us and the peace and certainty that only He can give.

And for those who, like me, have experienced God’s saving power and love but haven’t been so diligent in sharing it with others, be encouraged and inspired. Let’s not keep such wonderful good news for ourselves. Let’s shout it from the rooftops!
